I was thrilled when I was contacted by EcoStore USA, and very intrigued by their product line. Lately, as my kids have become more and more involved in the household cleaning, I have wondered about the wisdom in letting them use any old cleaner to do their chores. With 5 kids, I can't keep my eye on each one ALL the time.
There is SO much talk today about going green, but does it all really mean? We have all grown up surrounded by "non-green" products, and we're ok, right?
Check out some fast facts about household products:
- According to the American Association of Poison Control Centers accidental poisonings occur in the home every 30 seconds.
- The National Safety Council has reported that more children under four die of from accidental poisoning than are killed by guns.
- A report by the EPA to Congress determined household cleaners three times more likely to cause cancer than outdoor air pollution.
- Women who work from home and are more frequently exposed to household toxins and poor air quality are 50% more likely to develop cancer.
- Newborn infants have trace levels of toxic chemicals in their bodies, passed on by their mother’s exposure.

Lately, I have tried to pick more safe and child-friendly products, including making my own cleaning mixtures (vinegar and baking soda are my friends!). When I was given the opportunity to pick a few products from the EcoStore, I decided on the Citrus Spray Cleaner, the Cream Cleaner, and the Lemon Rinse Aid. I have come to rely on these great products, and have been 100% satisfied with their performance and quality.
Are you ready to try them? EcoStore USA has generously offered to let one of my readers pick out $25 worth of products from their store. The question is--what products would you chose?
To enter this giveaway, visit EcoStore USA and tell me how you would spend the $25. This step is required.

ReplyDeleteIt's hard to decide. I like the cream cleanser and also the citrus spray. I would love to try this stuff!
ReplyDeleteThe tip I give for going green is a really simple one but was a huge deal for me. I have recently stopped using paper towels. I will admit...I used a LOT of them and loved them. I do still miss them for some cleaning...like mirrors, glass and quick spill clean ups. But it makes me feel better to not be using them. Plus it saves money! I got a box and put rags in them and put them under the sink. I also bought a small laundry basket from good will to throw dirty rags in downstairs (our laundry room is upstairs!) I feel really good about saving money and saving landfill space!
ReplyDeleteI am following you now. Great blog.
ReplyDeleteI'd like the citrus spray cleaner, leave-in conditioner for pets, and the vanilla and/or coconut bar soap. All of those sound heavenly!
ReplyDeleteI also follow your blog already, and am still in love with your new look.
ReplyDeleteMy green tip: we have a compost pile behind our shed. We put old newspapers, cardboard boxes coffee grounds, veggie and fruit peels... anything except meat/eggs/cheese (which attract rats). Make sure it's far enough away from your house that you can't smell it. :)
ReplyDeleteBaby Sleepytime Bath for my kids and the coconut soap for me
ReplyDeleteI would pick the Auto Dish Powder, the Ear Wash (for my dog of course) and the Coconut Soap!
ReplyDeleteI subscribe
ReplyDeleteI want to be more green and cleaning products are a great wat to do it. I also, almost only, use my own bags grocery shopping. Each fabric bag can save the lives of 2200 plastic bags.
ReplyDeleteI'd like the Aloe Vera Shampoo/Conditioner or the Rosemary Orange Shampoo/Conditioner! I'm in love with the all-around healing properties of aloe vera, its an amazing plant!
