Eleven Collection Shoes Giveaway!

*THE CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.* Thank you for your amazing recponse!

I was thrilled when I was offered the opportunity to review a pair of shoes from Eleven Collection, a sister company with See Kai Run. I am sure you've seen these amazingly adorable shoes around the blogosphere. I had seen them around and had eyed a few of the super-cute styles. I didn't have any problem at all finding the perfect new pair of shoes for AJ. I loved the Josefs:

And then when I found out that Reese could pick out a pair as well......Well, let's just say that I had one happy camper in my house. Reese got to look through the catalog and pick out her very favorite design. Every shoe that she looked at was cuter than the next. But she decided on the Rio:

The shoes came in the mail at the end of last week, and the kids were in heaven when we opened the box. They are loving their new shoes and I am loving the style and quality of their new footwear. One of the things that stood out to me right off the bat was that they were very easy to take on and off. AJ tend to have tall feet, and so sometimes squeezing his feet into a pair of tight shoes is tough. Not these! They open up wide to let his foot slip easily in, and then close up nice and secure so that he can run and explore to his hearts content. I also noticed that they are well made, soft, and flexible. No breaking in, no uncomfortable feet.

Here's a little bit of info about Eleven Collection shoes:

Eleven is a sister company with See Kai Run, carrying on the same tradition of flexibility and good looks, but for the older set (age 3-8 years, or shoe sizes 9-3). They are a family-run company based in Portland, Oregon.

Cherish Bound Story Starter & Account Giveaway!

*CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED*

Those of you who know me at all know that I love photos, and I particularly love the stories that go along with them. My family photos and their stories were some of the primary reasons why I started my family blog.

I met Tara at Cherish Bound over a month ago when I entered and won one of her Story Starters. Since then, I have gotten to know her as a wonderful friend and I've learned about her amazing company! Keep reading for a chance to win an amazing giveaway from Cherish Bound....but first, What is Cherish Bound?

Cherish Bound is so much more than a photo book! You can create books to find, capture and share the stories of your life... As a blogger, I have endless stories and Cherish Bound is a perfect place to publish them and save forever in a physical form.

Family Traditions

You can do so much with Cherish Bound...create books, enjoy amazing products to help you organize your stories....they even have an opportunity for you to make money from home. Tara tells me that they are ramping up for some big things this summer and are looking for fun people to join the Cherish Bound family. You can be a part of the movement they're creating with some great specials and deals going on right now. And who couldn't use a little extra money these days - especially doing something we already all love!

With Cherish Bound you can...

Capture your Story. Using their online publishing tool, you will upload your story text, photos, and scanned images into a book template of your choice. With their ever-growing selection of colors, borders, and fonts, finding the right format for your story is easy. The tool is web-based so you don’t have any software to download or update – all of that is done for you!

Submit your Story. With your book completed you are ready to submit your project to Cherish Bound online. All you do is press the submit button and they take it from there. Your book will be printed and bound using cutting-edge, archival processes and materials. You can order as many copies as you like, whenever you want. Your finished book is digitally stored in their archives indefinitely.

Share your Story. Your completed book will arrive by carrier in approximately 15 business days from date of submission so that you can begin the tradition of sharing story in your family.

Teach others about the Story. Cherish Bound is growing. Kind of an "odd" thing to hear given the circumstances of our economy and how this little world of ours is turning. Tara said, "It doesn't surprise me. Many people are finding comfort and joy in our products, the stories that are being shared between family members and friendships that are being created between consultants and customers. It's a beautiful thing..."

To help you get started with sharing your stories, Tara is giving away a Cherish Bound Story Starter and Publishing Account for one lucky person! She's also including a $29 credit towards publishing your creation!! All you have to do is leave a comment on which of your stories you would love capture and share. If you'd like to contact Tara and receive some more information about Cherish Bound go to www.findcaptureandshare.com and fill out a request for information. (top left in red - says "register")

So, to make it easy, Here's what you need to do:

1st entry--Leave a comment here and mention which story you would like to preserve. Would you tell about your child's birth, or first day of school? Maybe you would like to do a recap or your family's year, or remember your wedding day? Anything goes!

Skin MD Shielding Lotion

How many of you have dry, cracked, and even burning hands for the bulk of the Winter? I do. My hands have often gotten so dry that they have bled. So, when I was offered the opportunity to test Skin MD Shielding Lotion, I jumped at the chance.

I have to admit--I was skeptical at first. It's promises were quite lofty, but you know what? It performed! When I first put it on my hands, I was pleasantly surprised to find it light and non-greasy. I have used other lotions that have left my hands greasy for an hour after application. Skin MD has been so pleasant on my hands that I started using it every morning on my face as well. I love the fact that it has SPF 15--a huge draw for me because of my history of skin cancer.

So what is a Shielding Lotion and what makes Skin MD different?

"A shielding lotion is a lotion that provides a natural barrier on top of the skin to protect it from outside chemicals and irritants. In addition it also acts to keep the moisture and the oils in the skin, so that the skin can heal itself."

Problem With Traditional Moisturizers

"Regular moisturizers are designed to add moisture onto the skin. However it does nothing to repair the barrier so it's an endless cycle of constant moisture application onto the skin without healing and curing the dry skin. Many traditional moisturizers restore the moisture to the skin on a temporary basis, but after continued use actually send a message back to the skin saying it doesn't need any further moisture to be produced by the skin, and so we can end up with the opposite condition where the skin is less hydrated than prior to using the moisturizers. With the shielding lotion, first off it's a thin layer, so it does not clog the pores, it allows skin to breathe and it is what we call non-comedogenic – it won't promote acne. But in addition, it also protects the skin while allowing it to breathe."

"Shielding lotions not only protect the skin's barrier but they restore the moisture to the skin and allow the skin to continue to moisturize itself, so that your skin does not become addicted on the moisturizer and ultimately cures the dry skin."

You can even watch a video HERE on how well Skin MD works...just like an "invisible pair of gloves!"

I highly recommend Skin MD. It came at the perfect time for me!

He's Just Not That Into You--CD and hoodie giveaway!

GIVEAWAY CLOSED

I LOVE music, and I have a slight obsession about collecting new music for my iPod. I've got music playing on my stereo just about all day long. I have my morning playlist, with upbeat, easy to listen to music, my night time playlist with soothing tunes, and a bunch of day time playlists for all of the things that I do around the house and out and about. I have been listening to a new CD --the soundtrack for He's Just Not That Into You--for about a week now, and I am SO EXCITED to be able to pass a copy of it on to one of you, thanks to my friends at One2One Network!

I also LOVE going to the movies. It's especially fun to grab a group of girlfriends and kick back at a romantic comedy. There's nothing better than girl power and bonding with friends. Well, almost nothing. :)

My first impression of the He's Just Not That Into You soundtrack was that it gave me a strange desire to dance around my kitchen. There were several old favorites mixed in with new songs. Yes, a few songs (life The Cure's "Friday I'm in Love") sent me back to my high school days. Ahh. Sweet reminiscing. The soundtrack is fun and upbeat and I find myself playing it over and over. I can't wait to see the movie, which opens in theaters on February 6th.

Here's what is included on the CD:

Corinne Bailey Rae “I’d Like To”
My Morning Jacket “I’m Amazed”
The Human League “Don’t You Want Me”
R.E.M. “Supernatural Superserious”
Tristan Prettyman “Madly”
Talking Heads “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)”
The Black Crowes “By Your Side”
Wilco “I Must Be High”
James Morrison “You Make It Real”
Maroon 5 “If I Never See Your Face Again”
The Replacements “Can’t Hardly Wait”
The Ting Tings “Fruit Machine”
Lilly Allen “Smile”
Keane “Somewhere Only We Know”
Erin McCarley “Love, Save The Empty”
The Cure “Friday I’m In Love”
Scarlett Johansson “Last Goodbye”

Want to win a copy? As if a new CD isn't enough, we're also throwing in this great hoodie! (I love this...but believe me, I'll be wearing it with an undershirt)

Here's what you need to do for a chance to win:

1. Comment on this post. Simple! Make sure you include your e-mail address. (By the way--This contest is open to US residents only). Contest ends on February 10 at midnight (Eastern time). I will pick a winner using Random.org on 2/11. Winner will have 48 hours to claim the prize and send me a mailing address.
